As part of the WHO Global Conference on Primary Health Care, a meeting was held between the Minister of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan - Yelzhan Birtanov, and the Minister of Health of India - Jagat Prakash Nadda. The purpose of meeting was to discuss the prospects for cooperation between two countries. In particular, the development of medical science, modern technologies in health care.
The meeting was attended by rector of Semey Medical University professor Yersin Zhunussov and rector Asfendiyarov KazNMU prof. Talgat Nurgozhin.
During the conversation, the idea about independent selection of foreign students for universities, and opportunity for foreign students to study in undergraduate, but also to study at the postgraduate level and get a degree in Kazakhstan were supported.
Both ministries of India and Kazakhstan are planning to create working group to strengthen the relationship between two countries in healthcare and in different directions of medicine. Both sides confirmed mutual interest in cooperation and making a future collaboration plan in medicine, medical science and education.
