Kazakhstan medical students association and the Standing Committee on Research Exchange (SCORE) are pleased to announce that the Local Committee, represented by the Medical University of Semey, has officially become active in the field of research exchange on the worldwide platform of International Federation of Medical Students Associations (IFMSA). Activating our university in such an international arena allows students from all over the world to come to our university by exchange, work under the guidance of our teachers, write a project and gain extensive experience in the field of medicine, and also enhance the prestige of our university as a competitive educational institution among all educational institutions around the world.
This year, the SCORE-SMU team sent for consideration 4 projects to the International Commission of the Federation of Medical Students Associations, which resulted in one of four projects selected, on the biochemistry discipline: “Evaluation of the metabolites of the effect of purine nucleotides on the activity of the antioxidant system of enzymes with sympathetic hyperactivation”. The tutors of this project are Smailova Zh.K., Olzhayeva R.R. and Sovetov B.S. For 3 years of work of the SMU Score Committee, not a single project was approved, but thanks to the Department of Biochemistry, we first time intensified our activities and are ready to become a new international haven of knowledge, which in the summer of June 2019 will receive a student from another country to work together.
First of all, we want to thank, on behalf of the entire Local Committee of Semey Medical University, especially the entire SCORE-SMU team, the teachers of the Department of Biochemistry Olzhayeva Rauza Romanovna and Sovetkanov Bakhytbek Sovetovich for the decision to work as a tutors. We are very pleased that you are working in collaboration with the largest and most extensive organization of medical students - the International Federation of Medical Students Associations (IFMSA).
Since KazMSA is a member of the International Federation of Medical Students Associations (IFMSA), a member of the international commission became the supervising committee of the SCORE (Supervising Board) of the IFMSA. Currently, it includes: Alison Juarez, Abdelrahman Adley, Mattiu Pierre, Christopher Gramsch, and the director - Erwin Barbosa-Molinas. All projects sent by us were checked by these people, as a result, 1 project was approved and 3 more are under review. We hope that, thanks to the close-knit work of the SCORE-SMU team, all future projects will soon be approved and our university will rise to another level.
