World Cancer Day

Every year on February 4, World Cancer Day, the World Health Organization (WHO) and the International Agency for Research on Cancer, support the International Union Against Cancer in disseminating information on measures to alleviate the burden of the disease. Cancer is the general designation of more than 100 diseases that can affect any part of the body.

One of the characteristic signs of cancer is the rapid formation of abnormal cells that grow beyond their usual boundaries. Up to 40% of cancers can be prevented by avoiding contact with such known carcinogens as tobacco smoke. With many types of cancer, there is a high chance of recovery if they are detected early and treated appropriately. In 2016-2018 the World Cancer Day is held under the slogan "We can. I can". On this day, it is proposed to take collective or individual measures to alleviate the burden of cancer prevention. February 6, 2018 at the Department of Biochemistry and Chemical Disciplines named Tapbergenov S.O., c.b.s. Olzhayeva R.R. and students 240 GM group, discussed the given world problem. The purpose of this event is to explain the benefits of a healthy lifestyle and preventive measures that reduce the risk of cancer.
